Zombie Land Saga (ゾンビランドサガ, Zonbirando Saga) or simply Season 1 is the first season of the Zombie Land Saga anime that has a total of 12 episodes.
The first season aired from October 4, 2018, to December 20, 2018. It was later succeeded by season 2, which premiered on April 8, 2021.
Synopsis[]
A usual morning. The usual music. My usual self. Our peaceful, everyday lives… were destroyed. By the zombies.
An exciting 100% original anime. If it were a movie, they would classify it. For people over 15 or so. Hear the screams of scared zombies.

In 2008, Sakura reached her second year of high school, and she wants to go to Tokyo to audition to become an idol, but as soon as she leaves home, she gets hit by a truck resulting in her death.
Ten years later, Sakura wakes up in a certain western-style house with no recollection of her past life, and is suddenly attacked by zombie girls and escapes outside, but finds that she also turned into a zombie. A young man, Kotaro Tatsumi, tells them that they were revived as zombies for the local idol project “Zombie Land Saga Project” that raises awareness for the Saga Prefecture. Kotaro formed the idol group “Franchouchou” with seven members: Sakura Minamoto, Saki Nikaido, Ai Mizuno, Junko Konno, Yugiri, Lily Hoshikawa, and Tae Yamada.
Franchouchou grows up as an idol group after overcoming problems and discord between members from different eras while becoming a popular group in Saga. Days before their concert in Arpino, Sakura was hit by a truck again and regained the unfortunate memories of her life, and in return lost her memory after she became a zombie. Sakura, who turned negative, loses motivation for the concert, but with encouragement from the members and Kotaro, she decides to stand on stage. Franchouchou continues to sing, despite the great event that the stage collapses due to heavy snowfall. Sakura regains her memory as a zombie and reconciles with the girls. In response to the voice of the encore, the seven began to sing again.

Trivia[]
- Apart from their causes and exact dates of death, Yugiri and Tae’s locations of death are also the only ones not disclosed during this season.
- Meanwhile, both Sakura and Lily are shown to have died within their own house’s general radius.
- There were supposed to be episodes briefly focusing on Yugiri and Tae’s pasts respectively, but since they would not fit with the first season’s story, they decided against it.
