Saga FM (エフエム佐賀, Efuemusaga) is a designated terrestrial broadcasting company that operates an FM broadcasting service in Saga Prefecture.
Overview[]
In Saga Prefecture, Nagasaki Broadcasting (Nagasaki City) has been broadcasting within the prefecture as NBC Radio Saga for many years, but this is the first commercial radio station to broadcast exclusively to Saga Prefecture.
Saga Prefecture did not receive frequencies until 1990 due to the ease of receiving commercial FM broadcasts from neighboring prefectures. However, as there were no plans to launch more commercial television stations, a preliminary license was issued just one year after the allocation. Upon its launch, the station joined JFN rather than becoming an independent broadcaster, as this gave it an advantage in terms of programming.
Although the station did not broadcast 24 hours a day from its inception, it has done so since November 1, 2000, except during maintenance, from 1:00 p.m. on Mondays (2:00 p.m. on Sundays) to 6:00 p.m. Recently, the station has not interrupted its broadcasts during maintenance but has been transmitting silently (without modulation).
The program has been available online since 2011 on LISMO WAVE and Docodemo FM (both services are no longer available). It began broadcasting on Radiko on April 15, 2020.
All 38 stations affiliated with JFN, including this station, are regular members of AC Japan (formerly the Japan Public Relations Council).[1]
Synopsis[]
White Ryu has been a radio announcer since at least the late 1980s, during his youth as a rock singer. His program, “So that Saga remains Saga,” was a hit during that time and made the prefecture popular.
In 2019, Ryu left the station, handing the reins to Saki and Franchouchou to continue his radio program's legacy. Since then, Franchouchou has promoted Saga through radio. After the devastating floods that hit Saga in 2020, Franchouchou used the radio to promote a charity event to help Saga in the aftermath of the disaster.

- “Because Franchouchou's Saga of No. 2 is a Saga” was a radio program that was broadcasted on Saga FM every Sunday from April 18 to June 27, 2021, from 10:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The person behind it is Asami Tano, who plays the role of Saki Nikaido and the legendary Saga Prefectural rock star “White Ryu” radio, featured in the second episode of “Revenge.”
