He spends a lot of time in the labs at the university together with his wife, Mrs. Yamada. After encountering a strange creature, he spends more time in the labs researching and experimenting on it.

On Tae's birthday, they both present Tae with a stuffed rabbit, saying that it reminds him of the child they work with; however, Tae gets angry because she only wants her parents to spend time with her and not in the lab. A few hours later, government employees from the health department intercept him at the university where he works.

When they intercept him along with his wife, he tries to get in the way, so they don't take the creature they were investigating. The creature suddenly transforms into a giant spider-like Sagako, killing those around it. Including him.
