Interstellar Colonization Mothership (星間航行コロナイゼーション 母船, Seikan kōkō koronaizēshon bosen) is an alien terraforming mothership. It was used by the aliens as a command center for the invasion of Earth. It is the main alien ship of the Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise.

This is a large, T-shaped alien mothership. Its composition is a mixture of organic and inorganic materials, giving it not only an alien appearance but also an imposing presence. It serves as the alien base of operations for the invasion and subsequent terraforming of Earth, allowing for the mobilization of numerous attack craft, reconnaissance vessels, mechs, and troops to crush any resistance.

The mothership's distinctive head is composed of a hard metal structure completely covered in soft organic material. The head is movable and can separate into three independent parts depending on its use. The head also houses the ship's core and other components for interstellar travel, such as a device capable of generating wormholes on the exterior. Additionally, the exterior features soft, mud-like areas that allow troops or spacecraft to enter and exit.

When the ship is in interstellar travel mode, it can rotate its head 90 degrees, giving it the appearance of a large hammer. Furthermore, the three movable sections of the head can be configured to create a mechanism that terraforms a planet's surface into a tidal marsh, destroying any man-made structures with an ultra-powerful shockwave.

The ship's interior houses a multitude of alien weapons that can be reused at the user's discretion, mechanisms capable of generating wormholes, entire areas resembling the alien planet with the appropriate atmosphere, and a massive heart.

The mothership can generate hundreds of wormholes across the planet, intending to wipe out humanity in a matter of hours. All of this is made possible by the ship's heart: a large, glowing stone that powers the entire civilization. The accompanying wormholes are capable of generating powerful lasers that can burn any surface, leaving a trail of destruction and flames in their wake. They can also be calibrated to produce a large laser that expands upon detonation, causing massive explosions similar to those of an atomic bomb.

Trivia[]

  • Science fiction designer Romain Thomas was tasked with designing the alien spaceship. The first sketch of the mothership looked realistic, so it was approved, and they worked with it from then on. Furthermore, the directors also wanted to design the spaceship with an unusual shape, so they asked Romain to design it like a T-shaped razor.[1]
  • The directors wanted to move away from the stereotypical influence of spaceships in existing films. In the early stages, they received ideas from several people but ultimately discarded the “mechanical spaceship” they had initially envisioned. From there, they debated that, since it was space technology, they should stop using Earth-based concepts. In the end, they chose an organic aesthetic, arguing, “An organic aesthetic is better than something mechanical.”[2]
    • Director Ishida also suggested that the ship's shape be a T-shaped razor blade placed vertically. From there, Roman's design work on those ideas brought originality.
  • The inclusion of science fiction elements was decided from the beginning. After all, the final shot of season 2 strongly hinted at an alien invasion.
    • In fact, there was a proposal to treat the final UFO shot of Revenge as part of a Franchouchou music video and simply remove the entire alien theme discreetly. But everyone on staff agreed that confronting it head-on, without running away from it, was much more in keeping with the spirit of Zombie Land Saga. That's how they decided to go the science fiction route.
      • The idea of using the final shot of Revenge as a Franchouchou music video was ultimately retained in the movie. It is, in fact, part of Franchouchou's new single, the music video for Kyō ga Rekishi ni Nokoru Nara, in which they fight aliens. The spaceship design was also reused.
  • Saga's prosperity at the 2025 Saga World Expo triggers a curse that makes Saga the target of an alien attack. Given that the EXPO's theme is science and space, the inclusion of aliens also fits the curse perfectly.
