Arita Porcelain Park (有田ポーセリンパーク, Arita pōserinpāku) It is a small theme park located in Arita town, Saga prefecture, Japan.[1]

Description[]

In real life[]

The Porcelain Park is a recreation of a traditional German village, and is located just on the outskirts of Arita on the road to Hasami. Most stunning is the reproduction of the “Zwinger,” a famous palace in the German city of Dresden. Inside the palace are impressive permanent exhibitions of both European porcelain in one wing and Arita-yaki in the other. Behind the palace lies a European style garden. There is also a large ancient kiln which can be visited. The theme park also houses various stores selling both traditional Japanese and European-style products.

In the manga[]

This is the place chosen by Tae and Eikichi to attract Magatsuhi, dressing Eikichi as a woman in the hopes that the Sagako will manifest. After a while, Magatsuhi appears and manages to take them both to her lair at the Takeo Ureshino Amusement Park.

Curry commercial[]

Here the animated short for the Curry Meshi commercial took place.

Trivia[]

  • Although the manga already shows the palace built in 1989, in real life the park did not begin construction until 1993.
  • Arita Village porcelain has been influential in the world of porcelain and has attracted European royalty since the 17th century.
  • Inside the palace, works of art that were exported from the late Edo period to the early Meiji period (19th century) are displayed.
