Fruitless Necromancy (徒花ネクロマンシー, Adabana Nekuromanshī) is the opening theme of the first season of Zombie Land Saga, performed by Franchouchou.

The opening begins with a monologue about how death is just the beginning of something else narrated by Sakura, while absurd images of zombies chasing said character are shown.
The opening is portrayed with more details in chapter 26 of the manga, beginning with Sakura leaving her house like the first chapter; the only difference is that instead of being run over by a truck, she is surprised by the beast that catches her. Franchouchou arrive and use special abilities of Saga to rescue Sakura. In the end, thanks to the power of friendship, Sakura joins the team and defeats the monster with an attack made of Imari fireworks.
Saga is also appreciated being destroyed and the building of the teaser trailer in the foreground, indicating the relationship between Revenge and the opening. The chapter ends with a sketch that Kotaro Tatsumi presents to the Saga public relations office to make a movie.

- According to the collaboration with Super Robot Taisen Cross Omega, the giant mecha robot featured in the opening sequence is called the Saga the Great 7.
- The song was slightly modified to have additional sound effects added when it played during the beginning of episode 11.
- Part of the opening sequence heralds the season's final arc: Franchouchou, dressed as Super Sentai-style heroes, save Sakura Minamoto from a monster—her own depression. In particular, Tae Yamada leads the charge.
- Much of these theories make more sense in Gaiden's manga; the monster that appears may be a Sagako and Tae leading the group is a reference to her past life as one of the Sagako Busters.
